Whos the hacker

Aloha everybody today is my 2nd to last blog post of the year,One day in cyber smart we learned about board games and played James game.

What is a online board game?
It is when you play a board game online and you play it. Most of the time they are a single player game but they could try and find a family one.You know those math games you play online most of them are online and game but can they be online board games?

Why did we do this?
We did this because next year the new year fives (year fours this year.)Would have no idea what to do on a Chromebooks and how to keep safe so we made a fun way to learn all of that.We also did it because so other people can learn too i've showed my parents and now they do the rules all the time.

Thinking hats for...Alice in wonder land!

3 weeks ago we had our school production.Me and my friend,Ashana were head hogs.Our production was Alice in wonder land.After production finished we made some thinking hats to describe how we felt and everything 

What is a production?

A production is this like musical but for school kids.The middle and Junior did the songs,the senors act,dance,lighting and sound,music and backstage.Everyone does 3 of there primary at waikowhai unless they come to this school not from the start.

Why is it important to have thinking hats?

It is important because when your older you can look back at the photo and then the thinking hats and you might feel like your in the production again.

What happens next?

After the production we made a doc then we wrote some feeling and things about the production.We had to have 1 or 2 paragraph for each hat.After Mr Ricemen (our teacher) had a interview with us to see it was good.I was the 1st to have my interview and it went well.Straight after I went and drew my hats.I wrote all the writing on it after.

The one and only..dog on the roll!

For a few weeks the seniors have been making toys.

Why were we maing toys?

We were making toys because it is our inquiry topic.We made a padlet to relate what toys our grandparents had and what we have today

Why is this important?

This important because we are leaning how much time goes into toys.We also learned the stature of the toys.

What happens now?

We will take a photo of our toy and stick it in our portfolios for our family to look at.We are also going to take it home.My partner was Kalana we have finished our toy.

Borrower study!

At school for 1 month we have been making novel study's.

What is a novel study?

A Novel study is when you have a book and you do lots activity related to the book.My book was the borrowers.

Why did we do this?
We did this because we would have a bit more choise in our learning and it made us understand more of the book.

What happened next?
We started to do group reading again.We also started doing some different activity like...our toy,patterns and thinking hats.We are making Qr codes to put on the wall with our novel title photo so our parents can see our slide.

Where is the seniours born

Hello readers

Today in cyber smart we did some mapping with James.what we did was James shared a map with room 9,room 8 room 7 and wrote where we were born here's the map.

Then we had to answer some questions here they are

How far have some students travelled in their lifetime to reach WPS?
Here some of the results
Khatizah was about 8,282 Km to get to WPS
Troy was about 1,147 Km to get to WPS
Sifa was about 2,248 Km to get to WPS

Why do people make the choice to move to different countries?

1.Maybe because once they had a holiday in that country and they thought hmm that place was awesome we should go and live there.

2.There country might be pilotedge and they want to be in a country that's not pilotedged.

3.Or maybe they wanted to be somewhere different.

Is this a trend in NZ society?

It is mostly around new Zealand like in Auckland but in some places they don't want other culture at the place.

What does the media tell us?

People from different country's are buying houses and making them more money.

When I saw this it made me really sad because this happens to people around the world every single day and that they were some of those people who have had it happen to them.It made me worried thinking that that will happen to me some day.It also made me think what will they feet after when the people said this to them and then now talking about it.

The Youtube comment disaster

Today in Cyber smart James asked us all a question who uses social media under age.That lead into a investigation of what you would do if you got in a little trouble on social media for example, someone hacked you.So we made a little document on what you would do in the problem and then we answer be free to answer it in the comment as well.
  

What would I do?

I would write a comment back but think really hard on what i'm going to say. It will be nice but saying that its not right to do that because in the comment there might be swear words or words that's kids aren't even suited for.I would also Hope for them to replay saying he will never do it again.

Who would I tell?

I would tell my parents because they could close down the video or block that person so they cant watch our channel or comment.I might also tell my sibling because she/he is apart of the channel and the family.

What do I think will happen after

1. Maybe the owners of you tube will hear and take his/her account so he/she cant comment anymore.
2. We would have to shut our you tube channel down.
3. We could take that video down.

Gymnastics

For this term on Wednesday our class has been going to gymnastics in the school hall.We did it because it was our kiwi sport for the term.We normally had two people but one each week Kylie and Kane.One week we had a girl called Teddy.

What I've learned.

I have learned to do lots of thing from Gymnastics like...

Landings.Landings are where you learn all the shapes and how to land .Statics.Statics is where you stay still and don't move. Rotation. Rotation is where you spin around or just turn around.Locomotion and manipulation. Locomotion and manipulation both mean movement.Swing.Swinging around and doing monkey bars.Spring.Spring is jumping.

My favourite part!

My favourite part has got to be this week because this week we did...FUN!It was of course fun.We used a parachute and on the circuit we got to do anything we wanted but with the things that were there.We did the session with Kane and Room 10.

My next steps.

My next steps are probably go to gymnastics and learn how to do a cartwheel.Its good because one of my next steps could be happen like in the weekend because I have a voucher of 1 free class yay! I also got a certificate have a look :D

David Hockney Artwork

Hello readers 2 weeks ago we started to make joiners for the art show which was last week.
What is the art show?
The art show is a show filled of art but...not just any old art its from everyone from the school!
What is a joiner?
Its a type of artwork which is made from photos.What you do is just take photo and put them back again.
Who is david hockney?
David Hockney is a famous artist that had the idea of inventing joiners.He also makes drawings which are also as good as his photo joiners (for more info look at the photo collage presentation.) 

firstly we had to learn about him we made presentation to help us with our learning.We made 2  have a look :D

blinging up other peoples comments.

Hello readers. Today in cyber smart we improved some peoples comments from all over New Zealand. 1st James showed us a comment and as a class we made the comment from a nice comment to a amazing comment! Then we went off to find our own. We had some comments to pick from me and my friend picked number 3. It was nice but they had no greeting :o , no signing off :O and worst of all they tried to be cool [which i'm sure they are] and used words but made them longer like wow=WOOOW! You see what i'm talking about. So then we went and changed it but of course it was not as awesome as James's example.Here is my improvement of the comment.

A good blog comment.

Today in cyber smart we learnt how to make a great blog comment.
We used padlet to brainstorm all the ideas on what makes a good blog comment.Then we watched 2 videos of how to  improve our comments they were cool and helpful.After we went back on the padlet and improve,added and deleted the ideas.The video helped a lot.

Making circuit's

Yesterday all the seniors got together and made...CIRCUITS!!!Every one got put together into groups of 1 person from each classroom.
What are circuits? Well I know most of you will be wondering what are circuits and glad you asked.Circuits are the cycle of how to make a light turn on,fan and sound effects it was so fun but my group couldn't work the sound one.

Now today we have made a thing link to show the parts of the circuits what it is and what it does...have a look please :D

Before And After

Today in cyber smart we were changing a blog post because James was

saying thousands and thousands could see it and it could see it before you take it down they could also already sent it to someone which is super duper bad.James should as a rubric that we should use every time we write a post.Any ways today I change my blog treaty and now its looks awesome this is a drawing to so you the different between before and after.

My Favourites of term 2!

For term 2 we have been busy at work doing a lot of learning and creating but my 2 Favourite things are...

1.This week a group of students got picked to do our yearbook. Every year the teachers do it on comic life but this year the kids are doing it and they are doing it on...GOOGLE DRAWINGS. I'm soooo happy because I got chosen.Here's a sneak peak of mine and my partners one.

2.This term we also had a lot of zones,I went to the soccer zones because I love soccer.I was in a group with girls we tied 4, won 1 and lost 2 game.Here's a photo of my team.

My Blog Treaty.

Today in class we made a Treaty but not any old treaty a blog treaty.

These things are the things you all ways need to remember before starting a blog.

1st we talked about what our blog's are for then went on the class page to get the template.We went on the template and put the ideas down for thought on the mat.There were 2 different section that we had to put our ideas in,it was kind of hard.Then James gave us a website when we went on we were so surprised it was a gif maker what we had to do was write in our name,pick the thing we want to write our name with,the colour and the fonts.We put it on our drawing and boom we did it,made a blog treaty!!!
