The Treaty of Waitangi

Hello, blogging world. On the 6th Of February 1840, a special contract was signed with the English and Maori which was in tribute to them decided to work together and live together. They would not cause any more wars between each other and if they broke it then there would be bad consciences. In this activity, We had to go to a link Click here that was all about the place that the Treaty was signed Waitangi thats why it is called the treaty of Waitangi, and share 3 facts of what tourist can do around and about.

I would like to do this as it is all about Maori Culture and at the same time you get to go in a gaint war Waka and paddle through a water fall!
Taiamai Tours Heritage Journeys

I would like to go here because at night they have light shows and i have been to one at MOTAT and it was super fun!

3.Waitangi Treaty Ground Day Pass
For my 3rd one I would like to go to the treaty ground day pass because there would be so much happening that would relate to the treaty.

Translating Phrases

Hello, blogging world. It is the end of week 1 and I am so excited to see what the team has placed for us the rest of the holidays! In 1840s lots of English Settlers where coming to New Zealand. At the time they nearly Overtook the amount of Maori Settlers. A great war started over the land, and where the other settlers could build houses. Unlike the Maori the English they did not speak Te Rea Maori so we every
they tried to argue none of them knew what that was saying. In the 2000s we have translators and google. For this activity, we have to use google translate to translate the Phares. Here is the original Phares.

Musical Festivals – Matatini

Hello, blogging world. We are now just for a little while become Nicole, Simon, Lewy, and Sharon from X Factor as today we are judging some Kapa Haka dances from the concert  Te Matatini. This years winner was Te Kapa Haka o Whāngārā Mai Tawhiti. As all this performance is from previous years. The groups are called (Videos are linked to the names)Tamatea Arikinui, Te Iti Kahurangi, and Te Puku o Te Ika

The dances were all great but I like Te Puku O Te Ika as they were singing a song that represented a leader and a past family member. Everyone's voices were in tune too. I did also really enjoy the Tamatea Arikinui group as they were singing and dancing. The girls pois would swing around their arm but they would recover smoothly. I didn't enjoy the group Te Iti Kahurangi as they had a weird layout and they put weird instruments with other instruments it just sounded awkward.

Playing Games

Hello, blogging world. For this activity, we had to look at a website that had four games (Here are the links) Poi Rakau, Ki O Rahi, Koruru and Poi Toa. Then out the 4, we had to choose one. Doing that we had to find out the name of the game, The purpose, and two rules. I have chosen Poi Rakau as it looked fun and I would enjoy to play it with my friends. Here is a video of how to play.

Poi Rakau is called Poi Raku. The aim of the game is to try to reach the next Rakau without it falling. You can step back but that would make it harder for you and everybody else. You are not allowed to dig it into the ground if so you are out. 1 person will be in the middle calling out instruction like "Go Right" or "Go Left"! but in Maori. they could add moves like Leg lift and he could add "Go right but do a Leg Lift and Clap before the Rakau falls"! In this list, I have played 2 of the game which are... Koruru and Poi Toa. Koruru is also known as knuckle bones. You chuck 5 rocks (The same size) in the air and try to catch them on the back of your hand, then you would need to flip it over onto your palm without dropping it. With Poi Toa it is kinda like a dance you make a Poi and normally they are used for dance. I did this in kindergarten and that was so fun.

The Waiata - A Song in Your Heart

Hello, blogging world. It is day 4 and today is all about music. Today we had to find a Waiata online and show why we liked it. I looked through many but the first one I saw was awesome it was called... Taku Rākau, Haramai a Paoa. It was so lovely and nice because both male and female had to perform the song and the video was performed in a crowd of people. Here is my song.

As  I said before the song is nice and lovely. The song is about going to war,m fighting to save this country and being confident. These peoples voices are so nice together it looked like they practiced a lot. I also found another one which sounds great it is recorded in someone house and it sounds as good as the Female and Males. Here is the Link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oKpPRWa4rQA . The song is very bold and gentle at the same time.

Fun Family Facts - Bonus Activity

Hello, blogging world. This Activity is all about our family. Every family is special in a different because they have different people in it. We had to ask three family member what their favourites things to do in the summer are. I asked my parents and one of my best friends here it is!

Mum
My Mum is a nice and caring woman. She has two kids, a lovely husband and a lazy dog. She would always be there for me and even treats my friends like her children. Let's see what she said?
1. My Mums love being warm because in New Zealand doesn't get hot often so when it is summer she loves it!
2. She also loves to hang out with her family. She likes to chill or go to the beach with them well, just anyway she can hang out with them.
. Dad
My dad is a hugging monster. Whenever you least expect it you see a face coming towards you and the next moment you are in the hugging trap of my dad. Let's See what he said?
1.In the summer my dad loves to watch cricket. Ethier if it is on tv or if he is in a stadium, it's his perfect day of how to spend the day with his friends.
2. I know this might sound funny but in the summer he also likes to play cricket... who was expecting that!

Amie
Amie is one of my best friends and she will always be but she is tied with my other friend Ashana. Amie has chickens and loves them! Let's see what she said?
1. In the summer she loves to play with her chickens. So cute!
2.She also likes to talk and talk to friends (Like me and Ashana). What A Chatterbox!

This is everything I found out. Most of this's facts are ones I didn't even know. Thank for viewing this blog post. If you would like to see more of my scroll down. Please feel free to comment anywhere on my blog. I will see you in my next blog post until then... BYE!

The More, the Merrier? - Activity 1 Day 3

Hello, blogging world. Today is day 3 of the summer learning journey. I am so happy I made it through 3 days! In the 1800s most families were very big. It is very normal that the parents would have Seven to Nine Children, imagine having 8 or 6 siblings your house would be really messy. Today activity is we have to imagine we have nine siblings in the 1800s. I wouldn't even make a day. Here is some reason why I would like to have a big family but not at the same time.

1. Having a big family would mean you won't get your own room plus, you would be sharing with at least 2 other people. In my house, you would have to share. 3/4 rooms would have two people in it but the 1/4 room would have 3 that is crazy!

2.As having a big family would be a lot arguing but from that you would have a couple of friends to live through each day.

3. My parents would not be able to handle it.

4. If some of your siblings are a year behind you they could be in the same class as you!

Waka Ama - Bonus Activity

Hello, blogging world. This is another activity I have not done which is called Waka Ama. To this day lots of people still use waka like in the Waka Ama where teams of six people go and compete to win in races. Both boys and girls can enter. In this activity, we have to watch a short video here and share why or why not we would want to be in it.

I would not want to compete in the Waka Ama as you would have to be able to row very fast and your team depends on you so if you do one little mistake you would fail your whole team. In some parts of this, I would be good like fitting in there as a am tiny but then again I would just be rocking side by side. I would think I would do well as a team and with training because with training you get better and working with a team they would keep encouraging you and they won't be as mad as your manager.
But, I love if I was a commentator and if it was just English because you get to have fun explaining the sport and not actually do the sport, plus you get paid for it.

Special Meals - Bonus Activity

Hello, blogging world. As for yesterday, I didn't complete this activity so I am doing it now anyway, back in the 1800s, most Maoris had a simple diet like fish and kumara as they did not have supplies to the store. Luckily in June 1958, they brought them to New Zealand and now we get all kinds of things. We don't just have supermarkets to get food from we have... Restaurants, Stalls, Vending machine and lots more. For this activity we have to show our favorite food and why it is? We could also add a recipe if we wanted to.

I love homemade bread roll especially the ones my dad makes. They are so soft and yummy to eat and with this, you can put cheese and things on top of the bread roll to give it that yummy taste and to make it look pretty. I also enjoy bread rolls because they can act as... Sandwiches and burgers! Here is a recipe of how to make it ( it the recipe my dad uses to make it) Click here!

Activity 2: The Rules of Engagement/ Day 2 Of The Summer Learning Journey!

Hello, blogging world. Today For the summer learning journey we had to draw a photo of us doing our dream job. The job was so fun because I like to draw but I didn't colour because I don't enjoy colouring this because that would have taken to long I wonder if you can guess what it is here are some clues
1.It is designing
2. It uses math
3. It is written on the paper.
Good luck guessing!

If you didn't guess I want to be an Architect.
I want to be one because I think it would be using my digital skills and mathematical skills. I think I would suit right in for this job because I love math, I am good at using computers and have engined before/ building things before. I know I am good at computers because I got a steam award and prize.

A House Or A Home? Day 2

Hello, blogging world. We made it through a day now it is time to do day 2. In the olden days, people of New Zealand didn't live in normal houses. They lived in a house called... wharepuni. Here is a short description of what a traditional one is. On a traditional, it has a thatched roof and walls made of timber, ferns, rushes, and bark. Each part of the house represent things like at the end of the roof they are the hands.
For this activity we had to describe the difference with our house we normally sleep, eat and play in and a photo of a wharepuni (Down Below) Here is my work.

Similar
 1. It is a house and with both of this's you can live, sleep and eat in it

2.My house relates to this because I have a small porch at the front which has the front door on it.

Difference
1.The difference with them is that on this building it has lots of faces and a story behind everyone.
2. My house is also two story and it is a suburban house, it has a steep driveway and it doesn't have a lot of patterns (Tukutuku Panels and Kahawai Patterns)

Setting Sails/ Day 1 Of The Summer Journey

Dear Amie,
The nights are horrible and cold but it won't stop me from trying to get to this small country called New Zealand. I have been running out of food but then recently I found a container of bait and a fishing rod, since then every day I have been fishing and stirring the waka. I am super excited to find my self in New Zealand because I have never been to another country but I am sure I will be interested in the surroundings and to see the people. The ride is bumpy but I will make it.

... Anyways Amie,
How is your trip scary, fun, are you already there. Send me a letter, please! (Click her name)

Hello blogging world, I know this is a weird layout for the blog today but I wanted it to be different anyway, in this activity, we had to create a little to our friend that would describe A boat trip to New Zealand on a Waka! Amie is one of my friend who is also doing this you should go see her blog with her letter. Thank you, everybody, for reading this blog post. If you would like to see more of my work scroll down. The First Settlers/ Day 1 Of The Summer Learning Journey.

Hello Blogging World, As you all know we have started the holidays but my school still has one day left. Due to that Waikowhai Primary and the Ako Hiko Area have started the Summer Learning Journey. If you didn't see my last blog about this then here is some basic and quick information, The summer learning journey is a program that keeps your knowledge up through the school holidays. This times theme is... Drumroll.... Time Tavel! We are doing 1800 - 1870 so not very long but this only last four weeks (A month).

As part of today, we read one of the many stories from Maui, Maui and the Gaint Fish. We need to tell three facts that we knew or learned from the story.

I have read many of the Maui stories with my teacher and my class but I cant share all of them. My favorite one would probably Be Maui and the sun because it showed some very important time and it made me think "Hmm, so are daylight saving when he is pushed down harder (to the ground) or when he free himself a little bit". Also to celebrate the book we did some art and the middle school did a big painting of Maui holding down the sun which stayed in the corridor for a while. If you haven't read you should, it can also be found here. Here is my work!

Image result for maui moana

  • The FIsh that Maui caught has been made to a remarkable landscape that is part of New Zealand.
  • Maui Never got to go fishing with his brother because his brother thought that he wasn't good and they would make fun of him.
  • When Maui Made it onto the boat and they where far enough Maui jumped out of his hiding spot, while this was happening again his brothers were making fun of him. Soon enough Maui couldn't take the waves of laughter and with anger, he punched his nose, covering the blood all around his fish hook.

Zooming Round The Track!

Hello blogging world, this Monday we had a great last week of school. To blast off the week we had a amazing wheels day! In this we got to bring our wheels to school, Go down the slip'n slide, Go in the pool and play some games with  the teachers. We dressed in mufti and donated a gold coin. As for the seniors we got spilt into three groups for the rotation. This was another very successful fun day. Here are some photos.

The Seniors went in the pool/water
slide first and it was super fun sliding down the slip'n slide. I got to slide down with Room Hauraki  teacher and when I went on my tummy at the bottom the water slide was used as a ramp and I lunged into the air. In the pool though it wasn't as fun because we just splashed boys with water then they would do it back. It was really fun when we went to do the wheels because I rode my roller blades and got to ride one of my friends bike with my other friends. I competed in the race on the bike and I came 3rd out 4 people but then I didn't know where we where biking so I basically lost. Just before getting onto our wheels we played some games with the teachers there was... Capture the flap, T-ball and just relaxing

Dance and Music!

Hello blogging world. This year is my last year at primary and I am really sad. Today I am sharing something I really loved about this year it was when we did Dance and Music. In this we got spilt up into three groups and then from that three group we had to pick a group of students to dance with. We first went onto a slideshow one of the teacher prepared and on there was different dances, different moves and two songs. There was a slow song and there was a move upbeat tune to the other songs. We had to pick one of the songs and make a dance to it. We had 3 weeks to practice until we had to preform in front of every group. If you were one of the top five you could have done your dance in assembly. Here is my groups dance! (I am sorry if you cant view it)

In this dance i really like doing the dance with my group. We made it to the assembly but we made a lot of mistakes. The easy part was preforming in front of everybody because we were very confident with out dance but coming up with the moves were really hard because we didn't know what to do.

Thank you everybody for reading this blog post. If you would like to see more of my work scroll down. Please feel free to comment anywhere on my blog. I will see you in my next post until then... Bye!

Lets Think About Our Gala Day

Hello blogging world, in the weekend Waikowhai Primary School ad there very first Gala day. Every class made a product and had to learn a cultural dance. As I said Manukau made paper. After the day we did some thinking hats to describe the positives, negatives, our feelings and what we would change. In the Gala day we had bouncy castles, food, products, dances and games. Here is my slideshow to show my thinking about the day.

I really enjoyed the day. The slide was hard because at times I wrote the sames things on the slides. The easy part was thinking about the red and whites hats but the-hard bit was the green and blue hats because I wrote the sames on each slide. I have learnt that it was really hard to be creative with the green and blue hat. Maybe next time I will add more photos and more detail about the day. Over all the day was great I am exited to come back next year!

I really hope you enjoy this blog post. I am really sorry that it was so short. If you would like to see more of my learning scroll down. Please feel free to comment anywhere on my blog. I will see you in my next post until then... BYE!

Today I am travelling around the world. We had to pick a place we wanted to travel to and give at least 2 reasons of why you wanted to go there. I have picked England. As England is a very far way to go the temperatures are even and in the winter it snows. I would love to see Buckingham Palace and maybe even meet the royal family. I would love to see or even maybe go on the London eye too. The sights are so pretty there and on the list that we got to pick out of (Canada, Japan, Australia, Chile, Germany, Mexico, South Africa, Malaysia and United Arab Eremite) that could speak English so I know what they are saying. It would be so cool to have a cup of tea in England... Where t was made.

Overall I think England is a great pick I cant wait to "Travel" there. I think that I would really enjoy going there when I am older.

Thank you to everybody for reading this blog post I know it had been boring as there was no photo and this was just a practice. If you want to see more of my work please scroll down. Feel free to comment anywhere on my blog. I will see you in my next blog post until then... BYE!

We Made Paper!

Hello blogging world since last term we had been making paper to sell at our Celebration day/ Gala day. We have also doing this to reduce the use of cutting down trees to make new paper, instead you can recycle the paper you used. With the paper we are making Christmas cards. Over this period of time I have learnt how to make paper and why this problem of the trees is so bad now since 5 years ago. Hauraki is making Tote bag and Waitemata is making soap (They are the two other classes in Te Waka Ako)

If you were wondering how to make paper heres how.
Materials
  • Old clothes/ A art shirt
  •   Deckle/ Mould/ Screen (Paper making set)
  • Hot water
  • Bucket
  • Potato masher/ egg beater
  • A big container
  • Scissors  (If wanted)
  • Used paper
  • Cloth
  • Sponge (If wanted)
Firstly rip some used paper into a bucket it needs to be nearly full.
After you finish ripping, place some hot water in the bucket and wait overnight, when you leave it over night it should turn into pulp.
Once it had turned into pulp place your art shirt on and start mixing it with the egg beater/ potato masher.
Keep doing that until it looks kinda sired up and it should look like soup.
Next when you have finished stirring grab the big container and place the pulp into the container.
After doing that get the bucket that had the pulp in it and fill with cold water. Fill the container a couple of times.
Get your Deckle, Mould and Screen and put them together. They are kinda like a puzzle. If it is on probably it should make a click.
After you finished putting the set together your can dip the Set while holding onto it.
Once you think you have scooped enough paper leave it to drip dry.
When that is happening get a cloth and take the deckle off of the Set.
Grab the mould and the screen together and place it on the cloth Mesh
Take the mould off.
Get the sponge and push out lots of water.
Once you think you have pushed out enough water take off the screen.
Finally Get a buddy to  help you take it to a great place to dry.
There you have finished, keep making paper until the container is nearly empty.
Here is all the paper my class made. We have made 106 cards.

Over all making paper was really fun, the process of making this has been really easy and quick. I enjoyed dipping my paper making set and scooping up all the paper. I had dislikes as well, like I didn't enjoy ripping the paper and mixing the paper so it looks like soup.

Thank you everybody for reading my blog post. If you would like to see more of my work scroll down. Please feel free to comment any where on my blog. Until my next post... BYE!

Lets Travel Around New Zealand: Math Style

Hello blogging world.
Since we have been back at school we haven't been in groups in maths instead we have been doing a set budget travel around New Zealand. We had a set budget of $500 per day which is quite a lot but when you are travelling it isn't as much as you think. We got to select a car, activates and Accommodations. The worst bit was trying to find out the cost of petrol. You also had to choose a plane and a ferry so that you could reach the bottom of New Zealand, from the South to the North. Now I know If I want to travel around Nz this would be the price.  This was so fun I would totally do this again.

My favourite place if I went would be Christchurch because the activities there are really fun. I would only go on a holiday, not live there. As I said before Christchurch had some great activities and my favourite would be Horse trekking both along the beach and in other places  I have done it before and trust me, it is worth the money. My least favourite activity would be the Jazz and Blue Festival the only reason I picked it was because I didn't want to go to the NZ Rugby museum.

Here is my work!

Overall I have really enjoyed this task. The best bit was getting to pick all the activity's because you got to pick what you want but sometimes they had a specific task for activity's so sometimes you couldn't pick the one you want. I learnt that if you want to fly over seas you would need a lot of money to go just around New Zealand. The hardest bit was trying to add all the petrol and the total price. Over all my total price was $4588.1, so if I wanted to travel all over New Zealand for 11 days I would need to save $4588.1. I thought I was going to spend $5000 instead I spent $4588.1, the price difference was $427.9

Thank you everybody for reading this blog post. If you would like to see more of my work scroll down. Please feel free to comment anywhere on my blog. I will see you on my next blog until then... BYE!

Novel Study Setting

Hello blogging world, last week in class we started to do a novel study. A novel study is a booklet/slide with different activities that you write about your book. Sometimes you have to read more and a sometimes only a little. Today I am going to show you my setting. We used TinkerCad to create the setting. My book is Cool Nuke. Cool Nukes is a book all about mystery, science and adventure. For my setting I am doing a part about when a professor house, shed and garage catches on fire. Here it is, enjoy!

From making this I learnt what I need to use to build a house on Tinkercad and I got a better understanding of how to use it. I really enjoyed making this because we got to use creativity and got to pick a part from the story. The easiest part was labelling the areas because I didn't have much on it but the hardest was trying to create the building.

Thank you everybody for reading this blog post, I really hope you enjoyed this blog post. If you want to see more of my learning scroll down. Please feel free to comment anywhere on my blog. Until my next post bye!

People All Over The World!

Hello blogging world, yesterday in class with Gerhard in cyber smart we made a map. First he gave as a drawing with 9 things we need to included...

  • My School
  • The other schools that use chromebooks
  • The Ako Hiko classes
  • Someone who left a comment on my blog
  • Where my Family is from
  • People from 5 country's who have visited my blog
  • Last known blog I've commented on
  • And my classes Tuhi Mai Tuhi Atu Partners
He taught everyone how to use google my maps and what are the features of it then all afternoon the whole of Te Waka Ako  (A cluster of classes that I am in) was focused in this activity here is my map!

I really enjoyed this activity because it was a bit of a challenge. The easy part was designing the little pins but the hard bit was finding all the information especially the other classes that use chrome books.

Thank you everybody for reading this I know this is a little short but that's okay. If you want to see more work scroll down. Feel free to comment. I will see you next time until then... BYE!

The magical world of madness!

Hello blogging world,
today in class we were lucky enough to have Richard and Robbin from Crazy Science all the way from Australia. As a school we gathered into the hall to see the craziness. I was amazed at every thing that happened in the show. Today in this blog post I will tell you everything about the show and my thoughts about the show... ENJOY!

Throughout the whole thing he preformed magic tricks like playing with fire and more. Through that Richard had taught as about science. This could not of been possible without Robbin, Richards sound person.

Some of the tricks
As I said he performed a lot of tricks but teaching us science at the same time. Here are some of the tricks. He preformed tricks in different categories there was chemistry and air pressure. In chemistry he mixed colours and in air pressure he first placed a table tennis ball on top of a hair dryer and it floated then he sized it up and placed a inflatable globe above a leaf blower he got a student to hold it. The leaf blower was really loud I had to cover my ears. He also showed us at the start the three rings that clip and un-clipped. I have watched people on the street do that. There was also fire. Richard taught us what fire was made out of and how to make it. He made a lot of things go on fire. Then Richard showed us tricks he could do with bubbles. There was also something about a nappy witch was really funny.

What I have learnt?
I have learnt a lot more then I already knew about every area in science. The magic tricks left me stumped... in a good way. I have learnt that the thinnest thing you can see with your eyes is actually a bubble! I couldn't believe it! Also that magic tricks relate to science. Fire works are made out of fire, spark, oxygen and a little hard work. I also learnt that if you place a table tennis ball above a hair dryer and move the hair dryer side to side that it would follow I thought it would drop!

What I thought was amazing?
My favourite part of the whole show was when Richard made a fire work with his hands and fire and then it disappeared in mid air! I also really liked when he showed us what is used in a nappy. He made "pee" then poured it into what is used to make the pee soak into the nappy. It also made liquids into solids.

What I am wondering?
I am wondering about how he pulled all those tricks off? How long did Richard and Robbin have to practice this? Can anyone do what he did? Is there more things we could of done if we had more time? Why is science called science? I am wondering a lot!

Reflection
Over all I am so interested and need to learn more. I was feeling so scared that something bad would of happened. I loved all the tricks but as I said I think the fire work one is the best. If I get the chance I would like to try some of it out myself. This was so great I would see this again. I am wondering some things and I need answers so I think I would look on the internet and in books to find more about what Richard did

Here are some photos.

The Snow Camp!

Hello blogging world, last week the year 5 and 6's went on a camp! Not just any camp but a camp to Mt Ruapehu. We went on so many adventures along the way to get to our final destination. I will never forget this camp. Once we finished this camp we made a slide to show all our adventures. This year for camp we got a $10,000 grant. Once everyone finished we will send the slideshows to them. Here is my slide... hope you enjoy!

This work was really good and will remind me of the great time I had. What I found easy was adding all the photos and making it pretty. What I found challenging was when we had to use what we learnt at the stops and make it into information.

My favourite part of the trip was on the second day of skiing I learnt how to do it clear and well and me and my friend Amie were racing down the mountain. My favourite stop was the hot pools because it was like a pool outside but it was heated like a hot pool. If I could change it I would like to make it a 5 day camp instead of a 4 day camp and then I would have more time to ski with my friends. My advise is not to wear too much gear up there you get hot quickly and it makes things a lot harder.

Thank you to everyone who helped out with our camp. Thank you guys for reading my blog post today. If you would like to see more of my learning please scroll down.
Feel free to comment on any of my work. I will you guys in my next blog post until then  BYE!

My Dream Playground!

Hello blogging world, today in class we made a playground. Not just any playground a 3D digital one. We did this because right now our junior playground is getting renovated so we decided why don't we take it to our own hands and create what can be their new playground. After creating a playground we made a video with a tour about it.
Here it is!

I found this really easy because I have use this tool a lot and I am a child so i had a idea of a play ground. The easiest part was when I made everything under the platform. The challenging part was when I was trying to create a flying fox and well... It didn't come out well.

What is a good blog comment?!?

Hello blogging world, yesterday in class we did cyber smart with Gerhard! We were learning how to make a good comment. If you want to learn what it takes to create a quality comment... then keep reading! First what we did is made a padlet about all the things you need to create a good blog comment. Then after we Smrfed a drawing that basically was a template of how to create a good comment!
Here is my work!

I really enjoyed it because I got to know the structure of what makes blog comments so good. What I found easy was the part where there was blocks already there and all you had to do was craft a statement relating to their blog post and the block you placed it in. What I found challenging was the part where after the blocks you have to create a full on blog comment to yourself.

Thank you everyone for reading this blog post. Scroll down for more of my work. Please feel free to comment. BYE!

Student Led Toolkits!

Hello blogging world, yesterday in class 24 students got picked to go to the student led toolkits. I was one of those lucky ones and even better I was a presenter.

What is student led toolkits?
It is when students teach others to  use a website that they want to explain about. There is spot prizes, competitions and presentations. We went to others to see what they wanted to show us. For the past 3 years Hay Park School, has hosted them. This year they hosted it but the location was at New Windsor School.

For my presentation I was doing.... Making Kahoots with Izzy! We had a full house. That day was really fun and I great experience. I did present last year and I liked that to but, this year it was more fun.

As I said throughout the day we did different activerties. I went incredibox and my presentation.  Here are some photos of the day!

At the start of the day we did a coding challenge and I was in it. We had a little play around with spheros (little robots programmed by a tablet) then we had a race through a course. We had to go round the cones and I did it twice. My buddy max, had a go and he got it around to. I guess they weren't looking, because they said another school won. Then our teacher did it (Mr Riceman) had to do it. He came 2nd. Here is a video of me.

We also did team building. Our school was 2nd was tallest and 1st for creativity. What we had to do was make at least a 10 cm thing to hold a cup with 100 grams in it. They had 25 mins to do it.

Creepy Animation!

Hello blogging world.
A couple weeks ago in class we had made a animation slide show. What we basically did was we used goggle slide to make an animation. I picked to make mine really scary.

What is a animation?
A animation is something cartoon that moves through photos. In this case we made photos going through slides.

Here is my one.

I really enjoyed making this. My favourite part was when I got to think of the idea of this and see the finish product. I think the easy part was getting the photos and making it into this. The hard part was thinking what to do with those character. What action should they do? Do they need any props?
