The Treaty of Waitangi

Hello, blogging world. On the 6th Of February 1840, a special contract was signed with the English and Maori which was in tribute to them decided to work together and live together. They would not cause any more wars between each other and if they broke it then there would be bad consciences. In this activity, We had to go to a link Click here that was all about the place that the Treaty was signed Waitangi thats why it is called the treaty of Waitangi, and share 3 facts of what tourist can do around and about.

I would like to do this as it is all about Maori Culture and at the same time you get to go in a gaint war Waka and paddle through a water fall!

  1. Kia Ora Lily,

My name is Rachel and I am working with Megan, Clare and Cia this summer on the Summer Learning Journey programme. It is awesome to see that you have been working so hard on your blogging.

I particularly enjoyed this post because it taught me a lot about Waitangi and the great things that you can see and do in the town and on the treaty grounds. If I had the chance to go to Waitangi I would definitely purchase a 'Day Pass' so that I could tour the grounds and learn more about our history.

Have you had the chance to go to Waitangi before? I hope that you will get the chance one day and that you'll be able to share your experiences with us on your blog.

I'm looking forward to reading more of your great blog posts very soon!

    Cheers,
    Rachel :)

    1. Hello Rachel,

Thank you for the awesome blog comment. I would also like to buy a day pack as I think that it would be a awesome packed day. I have not been to Waitangi but right now I am on Holiday and my dad said we might go for a look.

  2. Hi Lily,

It's great to hear that you are having a nice holiday with your family. We recently went to Tawharanui for an overnight and had a lot of fun at the beach. The weather was beautiful and we were able to go for a really nice walk and a swim. Tawharanui is a marine reserve and a bird sanctuary so we saw many amazing birds, including a Takahe. They are an endangered bird that I had heard of before but never seen. Have you heard of Takahe? They look like huge Pukekos!

Enjoy the rest of your holiday :)

    Rachel
