  1. Hey Lily,

I like the way you used a table to present your list of common names, I see a couple that I recognise too. Ben is such a common name anywhere, it makes me wonder how all the Bens in the world feel about that. How many people are there at your school with each name? Perhaps next time you could do a little bit of research about each names origin, maybe you’ll find out why they are so common.

When I was in school I remember a few of the boys having the name Sione and Jack, for girls Luisa and Ana were popular names. Often when we called out to someone with a common name we’d have to say the initial of their last name too if it was different or we just called them by their nicknames. There was even a common name that both boys and girls shared, it was ‘Sam’. All in all I knew about eight different Sams which was pretty interesting. Do you know any other common names that both boys and girls share?

    Toe feiloa’i fo’i,

    Cia.

  2. Hi Lily,

What a great way to display your post! Clever thinking! I agree, those are some very popular names! I know so many Bens, Joshua’s and Paige’s!

A few names that are really popular in my generation are Jordan, Amy, Caitlin and Zachary’s! I can’t even count on my two hands the amount of people I know with the name Zac and Caitlin! I wonder why they are so popular…

Have you met anyone with my name?

    Best wishes,

    Cadence :)
